In spite of being known as one of the Chrises in Hollywood,Thor: Love and Thunderstar Chris Pratt apparently prefers not to be referred to by his first name.

In what could be the most shocking twist ofthe Chris Pratt erathat we’ve ever seen, apparently, theThor: Love and Thunderstar does not go by Chris when talking to friends or associates. Instead, he has people call him by his last name or by his two initials.

When Entertainment Weekly asked him what he prefers to call himself, Pratt didn’t mince words. “Yep. Pratt. CP. You know, CP. ‘Hey, CP.'” Pratt responded. “But no one calls me Chris. My friend, Chad. I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day, and he was like, ‘No one calls you Chris? I’m gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You’re up.’ And I was like, ‘No, it feels weird. It’s not my name. Don’t call me Chris.'”

Even for such minuscule details as these, it is always interesting to hear a celebrity get candid about something that they do when the cameras are off. Ever since his rise to prominence fromParks and RecreationtoGuardians of the Galaxy, Pratt has been known as one of the Chrises. To hear that he doesn’t prefer to be called by his first name with that reputation is so interesting. The real question is, will the public adhere to what Pratt prefers to call himself, or will this be swept under the rug? Odds are, it will probably be the latter.

Then again, there are public figures out there who are recognized by their nickname, like former basketball star Penny Hardaway. His actual first name is Anfernee, but because Penny Hardaway has a better ring to it to the public than Anfernee, he’s always been called Penny. Pratt’s been in the public eye for a while now and has always beenrecognized as Chris Prattprimarily because he’s one of the more famous Chrises who’s involved in two of Hollywood’s biggest franchises, so it might be a little too late for him to change that perception about him now.

This also makes one wonder what else goes on in Pratt’s personal life.Pratt has received unjust public backlashfor being a Christian because of the actions of his rumored faith and church. Even though none of that has been substantiated, Pratt gets undeserved negative attention because of it. Seeing this whole ordeal about what he likes to call himself could humanize him a bit in the public eye. No matter what bits of his life come out next, it’s always cool to see a celebrity be candid about things like this.
