Few catastrophes throughout history have inspired as much fascination and morbid curiosity among the general public as the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster of 1986. Today, the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone attracts plenty of visitors throughout the year, and it is in this same Exclusion Zone that theChernobylitecampaign takes place.

With a non-linear story and supernatural elements,Chernobyliteis a unique, thrilling sci-fi survival game. And, as a result of this non-linear story, the campaign has multiple endings. It’s up to the player (and protagonist, Igor) to decide the fate of himself, his comrades, his fiancée Tatyana, and the supernatural Chernobylite element that has been generated by the nuclear disaster. This guide covers how to unlock all ofChernobylite’sendings.
Prerequisite: The Heist Quest
Before players can unlock any of the endings toChernobylite, they will first need to complete the Heist quest. There are very few prerequisites to starting this quest, other than having reached the Refuge. Players can take on the questwith a group of companionsor try to tackle it alone with just Igor.
Eventually, the quest will lead the player to the Black Stalker,Chernobylite’sprimary antagonist. After some lengthy exposition, a three-phase boss battle with the Black Stalker ensues. Once players have completed all three phases of the battle, they will be transported to the Fractal World where the Black Stalker reappears.
The Fractal World
A scuffle ensues between the player and the Black Stalker. Eventually, a portal will appear for the player to walk through. On the other side, the Black Stalker awaits next to another portal. Players are then given the opportunity tochoose between one of three possible endings to the game.
Option #1: Destroy The Portal (‘Good’ Ending)
In this ending, Igorchooses to destroy the portal and the Chernobylite with it. This frees Tatyana and stops the supernatural effects of the Chernobylite within the Exclusion Zone.

To unlock this ending, players can opt to pull a lever that will destroy the portal. Note that doing so results in the Chernobyl Power Plant collapsing, so Igor will need to race against time to get back to Tatyana and then escape the building before being crushed.
Should Igor opt to enter the portal, he will be given the option of communing with the Chernobylite. This is arguably the most negative ending. If the player chooses this option,Igor will be consumed by the Chernobylite, which will then spread even more aggressively throughout the Exclusion Zone.
Eventually, the Chernobylite goes on to take over the world, with humanity powerless to stop it. Choosing this ending is also seen as a betrayal by the other NPCs that have assisted Igor throughout the game.
This ending sees Igor committing suicide and rejecting the Chernobylite, destroying it and the Fractal Plane from within.
The epilogue of this ending isn’t hugely dissimilar to the good ending, as the Chernobylite is destroyed and its spread halted. However, it results in Igor dying, rather than escaping from the power plant with Tatyana.
