Another new cast member has been added toCaptain America: New World Order, even though the movie is still largely shrouded in mystery. Aside from its director, writer, main cast and some of the characters they will be playing, not much is known about the future MCU project. Still, there are emerging bits of news that manage to add some context to the story, even if the plot isn’t yet entirely known.
According to a report from Deadline, Xosha Roquemore has officially landed a role in the film, though it is not currently known what the role will be or how significantly it will factor into the story. Roquemore has made appearances inSpace Jam: A New Legacy,Atlanta, andBlack Monday, though her most notable role is as Tamra inThe Mindy Project.

Roquemore joins the already impressive cast list which includesAnthony Mackie making his return as Sam Wilson aka the new Captain America, as well as Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly, who are reprising their characters fromFalcon and the Winter Soldier.New World Orderwill also mark the return ofTim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, who was last seen all the way back inThe Incredible Hulk. there, it appeared that his character was making his initial transformation into the villain known as the Leader. Shira Haas will also make her MCU debut as the Israeli superhero Sabra.
Of course, the biggest casting news forNew World Orderis Harrison Ford taking over the role of General Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross. Ford will be replacing William Hurt, who originated the role inThe Incredible Hulkand later appeared in other projects includingCaptain America: Civil WarandBlack Widow.Hurt sadly passed away in March 2022. There has been speculation thatFord’s version of the character will emerge as Red Hulk, as he does in the comics, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Captain America: New World Orderwill be directed by Julius Onah, who previously helmed films includingLuceandThe Cloverfield Paradox. The script will be written byFalcon and the Winter Soldiershowrunner Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. While no details about the movie’s plot have been confirmed, it will hopefully carry on some of the heavier subject matter that was explored inFalcon and the Winter Soldier, particularly with the inclusion of Carl Lumbly’s character, a super soldier whose actions were erased by history.
Captain America: New World Orderis set for release on June 10, 2025.
