A new season ofCall of Duty: Warzonebrings a great deal of hype for the player base, but with it usually comes a headache or two. For every new thing added to the game, something else tends to break, or become exploitable, leading to frustration. Thenew helicopters were already removed fromWarzoneto address an invisibility glitch, and developer Raven Software has announced another update for today, December 18, set to go live soon.

This new season comes with the integration ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a massive undertaking for the developers involved. KeepingWarzonein theModern Warfareengine while bringing in a slew of content fromBlack Ops Cold Warwas always going to be a challenge. Early reports indicate thatWarzoneplayers aren’t thrilled with theCold Warweapons, something likely to be addressed in the near future to adjust the balance. For now, work is being done on quality of life for players.

The patch notes for the December 18 update coming from Raven Software indicate that the issue withXP tokens inWarzonenot carrying overfrom previous seasons has been dealt with. Players will once again have access to their unused tokens for use in eitherModern Warfaremultiplayer orWarzone. If players have unused tokens from previous seasons, they cannot be used inCold Warmultiplayer and any newly earned tokens cannot be used inModern Warfaremultiplayer. This is the largest issue being addressed in this smallerWarzoneupdate, with the rest of the changes as follows:

Out of these, “various weapon adjustments” is the most vague but could have the most impact on the game, depending on what exactly is being adjusted. It will likely take a little while for folks to figure out which guns are affected by this change, and if it makes them viable or nerfs them. In a few days, content creators will post their findings, likeNickmercs did for underrated SMGs inWarzone.

The rest of the items on the patch notes are certainly quality of life tweaks to smooth menu-related issues. Perhaps not the big fix for something like the invisibility glitch, but clean-up work to give the game a bit of polish after a rocky first week ofBlack Ops Cold Warintegration.Modern WarfareandBlack Ops Cold Warare such different games, that this merging of worlds was always going to be a challenge. With a few more updates,Warzoneshould find the right balance between the two.
