After months of disappointment,Call of Duty: VanguardZombies fans have finally had some good news to be excited about. It seems like some exciting leaks are starting to appear, too, with the latest providing some details onCall of Duty: VanguardZombies’ first Wonder Weapon.
Wonder Weapons have been integral to theCall of DutyZombies experience since its inception. The original Ray Gun started the trend on Nacht Der Untoten, whileShi No Numaintroduced the Wunderwaffe DG-2. From then on, new Wonder Weapons began to be introduced constantly, with iconic additions including the Thundergun and elemental bows from Der Eisendrache. At launch,Call of Duty: VanguardZombies offered no Wonder Weapons, something that has understandably made the community frustrated.

Fortunately, Treyarch’s 115 Day post confirmed that Season 2 will bring “multiple” Wonder Weapons for the Zombies community to strive for. One of these will certainly bethe iconic Ray Gun, though another will be brand-new - and fans now have a few details about it.Call of Dutydataminer and leaker @Nanikos is one of a few fans that regularly search through the game’s files when new patches release in hopes of finding some secrets. Sure enough, the player has found some info on a new Wonder Weapon dubbed the “Coolgun.”
TheCall of Dutyleaker jokes that it would be funny if the name was kept, and assuming that it is, the weapon could have some kind of freeze effect. Zombies has dabbled with ice-based weaponry before, with the memorable but weak Winter’s Howl and theoverpowered Staff of Icehaving some special places in gamers’ hearts. There is a good chance that this name could be a placeholder, though, so players will need to wait until its official addition in Season 2 before they know what its proper name will be.
In the post, @Nanikos also points out that the weapon is classed as a pistol, giving fans some idea of how it could look. There have been some great Wonder Weapons in this category over the years, with guns like theCRBR-S from Mauer Der Totenoften doing immense damage despite their size. Unfortunately, no other details are provided on the gun or how to acquire it, though the fact that it is in the game files means most of the work for it is likely complete.
While there could bea proper Wonder Weapon quest, or the Coolgun pistol could simply be pulled straight from the Mystery Box, fans will likely be happy with its addition either way. With Wonder Weapons being greatly missed inCall of Duty: VanguardZombies, this news will undoubtedly get longtime players hyped for Season 2.
