In preparation forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s launch on PC, Activision is sharing a wide range of information regarding the FPS' forthcoming release on the platform. Important release information like when PC owners can preloadCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis shared, as well as a new trailer showcasing PC footage. The reveal also includes details about PC-exclusive features that will be released included withCall of Duty: Modern Warfareat launch.
ForCall of Duty: Modern WarfarePC players interested in pre-loading, best get that pre-order in over the upcoming weekend. Pre-loading forCall of Duty: Modern Warfareon PC will officially begin on Tuesday, October 22, at 10:00 PDT (it isn’t clarified if it’s AM or PM, but AM can be assumed). To pre-load, PC players will have to have pre-purchased the game throughBlizzard’s Battle.net platform. The full game will be playable starting October 24 at 6:00 PM PDT.

PC port developer Beenox may not be doing a robust overhaul ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfarefor PC like Rockstar is doing for theRed Dead Redemption 2PC port, but there will be a handful of features available exclusively on PC.Call of Duty: Modern Warfarewon’t have a frame-rate cap on PC, regardless of the resolution. That includes 4K as well as ultrawide or multi-monitor resolution setups. And while details aren’t explicit, Activision saysCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewill have “more customization options than we’ve ever had in aCall of Dutygame” on PC.
Activision also notes several other features that, while not exclusive, should appeal to PC gamers. The64-player Ground War multiplayer modeis brought up as an example of gameplay that PC players would look forward to. The mode will also be available on console. Another feature PC gamers will appreciate is full cross-play between PC and console, which will be available at launch.
WhileCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewon’t be offering any PC-exclusive content beyond appropriate and necessary features for scaling between different PC hardware setups, that shouldn’t be taken negatively. TheCall of Dutyfranchisehas always looked and played excellently on PC going all the way back to the franchise’s origins as a PC-exclusive series in 2003. While the franchise has leaned towards consoles in the past decade,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarelooks to be a solid PC title with robust support on the platform. Fans will be able to tell for themselves starting soon.
