Accompanying all the new maps, modes, and skins coming with Season 4 isCall of Duty’s massive list of fixes, changes, and improvements that have been made toModern Warfare 3multiplayer and Zombies. In multiplayer, the Season 4 update allows players to track unlock and weapon mastery challenges. Another change comes in the form of audio design. In an effort to see players pick boots other than the Covert Sneakers more often, the audio team has lowered the volume of all footsteps in the game. Considering how important it is for players to be able to hear opponents' movements, it’ll be interesting to see how well this change will go over with the playerbase, as footstep volume has been a point of contention inpastCall of Dutytitles.

In terms of weapons, several ofModern Warfare 3’s SMGshave seen some significant buffs, such as the Rival-9, AMR9, and WSP-9. On the flip side, the BP50 assault rifle and its JAK Revenger Kit has had its movement and sprint speeds nerfed. The 6v6 map 6 Star has had its Hardpoint locations, area sizes, and spawns reworked as well. Season 4 also brings tons of fixes for MWZ players as well, including a devastating bug involving Juggernog and another mishap with the WonderWaffe Wonder Weapon.

Call of Dutyplayers can expect Season 4’s in-season maps, modes andGundamcollab to roll out around the expected Season 4 Reload update, which should go live in either late June or early July. In the meantime, June 9 will be a huge day forCall of Dutyfans, as theBlack Ops 6Directis set to immediately follow up Xbox’s Summer Game Fest Showcase.

GAMEPLAY

Last season, we made several adjustments to Perks to distribute usage in the Boots category more evenly. Despite these changes, the pick rate of Covert Sneakers remains far ahead of other Boots.

In today’s update, our Design and Audio teams have decreased the volume of all footstep types (walk, sprint, and tac-sprint) to encourage more diverse usage in the Boots category of Perks.
