The games’ way to celebrate the spookiest of seasons is to introduce new bundles featuring unique character skins. Titled “The Haunting,” the event is predictably themed around horror and thriller works.

Most of the represented works are movies, meaning that more third-party additions are coming to the series. Although the skins are the most advertised part of the event, they will not be released on their own. Indeed, with unique skins come unique weapons, icons, and other miscellaneous features.Call of Dutyfans will get plenty of horror-themed customization options this season. Tracer Pack: Ghost of War Ultra-Skin

Appropriately titled for a Halloween-themed event, in a first-person shooter with aghost-centric mode, the aforementioned Ghost of War is a fully clothed skeleton with a blue blaze that spreads throughout its body, including its eye sockets.

As the bundle’s “Naga Operator Bundle” name suggests, the playable skin is an undead version of Naga from bothBlack Ops Cold WarandWarzone. The bundle’s weapons are the Ghost Sword, Marsh, and Bellow, all sporting the same teal/brownish camo color palette. These skins apply to AR weapons, SMGs, and shotguns.

It also comes with an “Underworld” watch, a vehicle skin called the “War Horse,” a vehicle horn called “Undead Warrior,” an emblem called “War Monger” featuring a skeletal Naga grinning, and a finishing move called “Shot Down.”

Limited-Time Scream Operator Bundle

Scream’s legendary antagonist Ghostface makes hisCall of Dutydebut. What the bundle comes with, including the iconic costume, is rather simplistic. However, it all ties intoGhostface’s modus operandi.

Befitting of a killer that lurks in the shadows before striking, the “Plot Twist” and “Slasher,” named after what the Scream films tend to be known for, are straightforward dark gray palettes for ARs and SMGs. Unlike the other bundles, this one doesn’t give a new skin to a third ranged weapon, but makes room for the “Ghost Blade,” modeled after Ghostface’s signature hunting knife.

Other direct references toScreaminclude the “Cordless Phone” charm, based on Ghostface’s famous method to taunt his victims before killing them. The bundle also includes the calling card “Stabbing Motion,” and the finisher “Violent End,” both references toGhostface’s preferred way to off his victims.

Tracer Pack: Donnie Darko Limited-Time Bundle

The 2001 cult hit is the second non-video game, and the second third-party property at all to be introduced for this event, proving once again thatCall of Duty’s crossover tradition will live on. The nightmare-inducing, yet iconicFrank the Rabbitis the skin players get upon purchasing this bundle, and all the weapon skins feature a picture of Frank’s face surrounded by an icy blue background and contrasting colors. The black Costume Party is for ARs, the pink Fear Monger is for SMGs, and the purple Wake Up Call is for snipers.

Aside from the Double XP Token and the Quite Frank emblem, the rest of the bundle contains references toDonnie Darko’s plot. The aptly named “Jet Engine” charm and the “Sky is Falling” fishing move refer to the film’s inciting incident. The “Time Lapse” watch and “Projected Vision” calling card are respectively references toFrank’s time-travelling abilitiesand Donnie’s schizophrenia.

Tracer Pack: Disciple of Chaos Ultra Skin

Originally fromBlack Ops, Weaver found a way to make it into laterCall of Dutygames, includingBlack Ops Cold WarandWarzone, as a playable character. The “Disciple of Mayhem” skin appears have a bit of apumpkin themelike some older offerings. The main Disciple of Mayhem skin has an orange skull for a face, and the bundle comes with a Jack-O-Lantern charm.

Similar to Naga, Weaver’s “Face of Mayhem” emblem depicts the skull-faced skin smiling in front of fire, only this time, the flames are a more traditional orange and yellow. The weapon skins, all named after “mayhem” and a preceding adjective, are more traditionally gray, brown, and khaki green. Sudden Mayhem is for SMGs, Turbulent Mayhem is for ARs, and Controlled Mayhem is for LMGs.

call of duty necro queen

The bundle has a finisher, “Repairs with Klaus,” which appears to involve impalement, and it also has a calling card titled “Well Connected,” befitting of theHalloween season.

Tracer Pack: Necro Queen Reactive Mastercraft Bundle

The other character originally introduced inBlack Ops Cold WarandWarzoneto get a skin of their own, Portnova’s bundle is undead-themed. Her skin, whose name is obviously based on necromancy, is dirty and zombielike, complete with a crown befitting of a costume with the title “Necro Queen.”

Her “Void” weapon skins are all named after broad categories of fictional antagonistic creatures; monsters, demons, and ghouls. The Void Monster is for ARs, the Demon for SMGs, and the Ghoul for Tactical Rifles.

Continuing the zombie motif is her emblem, “Book of the Void,” which alludes to necromancy, the calling card “Interconnected,” which features an undead head. Her finisher, “Crawling Zombie,” uses a zombie’s upper half to finish off their opponents. Overall, rather fitting for a game that may or may not bring back the franchise’s famousZombies modeback.

The Necro Queen bundle also comes with a Double XP token.

Tracer Pack: Lumens Maxis Ultra Skin

The fourth and last originalCall of Dutycharacter to get something out of the event is Samantha Maxis, originally fromWorld at War. Maxis has a notably flashier color scheme than her contemporaries, with bright yellowish-green neon hair and a gray and pink coat. Considering how much she stands out, it’s quite the contrast when she could previouslyturnBlack Ops Cold Warplayers invisible.

The weapon skins that come with the bundle, the Freq Hopper for SMGs, the Demodulator for LMGs, and the Corrupt Data, all fittingly share their palette with Maxis’ coat. Maxis’ Finishing Move is the self-explanatory “Stick Up.” She also comes with a gesture, “Fist Bump,” performed using a severed hand, and a charm, “No Vacancy,” which consists of a rock with the charm’s name engraved on it.

The bundle’s content that isn’t directly part of gameplay embodies a neon blue and pink color scheme that pops with very stylized art of Maxis. It’s a colorful way to expand upon the initialSamantha Maxis bundlethat was released months earlier.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
