While optional, mostPokemonBuild-a-Bear releases have included an audio chip that lets them speak some of their iconic cries from the games or anime. A new version without any mention of the chip was uploaded in its place, and an official statement from the Build-a-Bear Twitter indicates that the sound chip is “not currently available” with no further information to share.

However, there are plenty of non-starter Pokemon that have been recreated by Build-a-Bear, so fans holding out for some older Pokemon or others from the newest games shouldn’t give up hope.
