Gearbox is at it again. They have released yet another new DLC forBorderlands 3,this time in the form of the Designer’s Cut. This new DLC has brought a new game mode to the popular title that is reminiscent of Digistruct Peak. In this game mode, players drop in with no loot and must gather it as they kill enemies.

Making it out will allow them to keep everything they grabbed. The best part about any newBorderlandsDLC is the legendaries and this new DLC offers quite a few.
Edited May 23, 2025 by Aden Carter:The release of the newest DLC titled the Director’s Cut, brought a few additional legendary items to Arms Race. Now that players have gone through and collected all of the original weapons, shields, and artifacts they can get their hands on, they can do it again for a chance at the Torrent and Kickcharger. These two additional weapons are great additions to any arsenal and players will be happy to have them.
10Dark Army
The Dark Army assault rifle has a great new effect that summons drones as a player uses it. It works similarly to the OPQ System but packs more of a punch. Each drone it summons will assist the player in battle and fire at enemies. Whenever the player reloads their weapon, the drones get a nice damage buff. What makes the gun even better is Zane’s clone. When this weapon is equipped to Zane’s clone, the clone will get their own drones helping it out.
9Firefly
Firefly is an automatic pistol that shoots fireflies at enemies. Its special text reads that it “shoots fireflies that hatch babies in the flesh of enemies.” This only comes in the fire element but it packs a series punch, especially on Moze and Amara. The babies that they hatch will fly off of enemies and come back tohit them again.Each of the babies hits just as hard as the original shot and they spawn no matter where the enemy is hit.
8Trickshot
The Trickshot packs a huge punch in a small package. Plenty of people across the internet have been comparing this Jakobs pistol to the Maggie and the Flood because of its great ability. Its ability states that once a player hits an enemy the gun will automatically unload the rest of the clip. This makes the weapon expend crazy amounts of ammo, but it also allows it to wipe out any enemy in sight, especially on Fl4k. The only downside to the weapon is that it cannot spawn with a scope, at least that’s the word.
7Kickcharger
The Kickcharger rocket launcher is similar in appearance to the Backburner but fires a laser just like the Ion cannon. This powerful rocket launcher is capable of leveling enemies easily. It takes a total of 4 seconds to fully charge, but charging also increases the damage it deals by 400%.

Players can also charge up the Kickcharger by sliding. This is extremely effective for Zane who can gain buffs from sliding as well. This weapon drops from any loot source in Arms Race.
6Plasma Coil
The Plasma Coil is the newest in the long list of Maliwan SMGs but it stands out amongst them all. First of all, it can only drop in a radiation and electric combo so players will not be able to have fire, cryo, or corrosive on it. The weapon also fires in a sixteen-round burst which is far more than other Maliwan guns. Players who obtain this gun will also note that it has extremely high elemental damage. This elemental damage absolutely destroys enemies before the burst fire is over.
5Torrent
The Torrent has quickly become a favorite gun for players ofBorderlands 3thanks to the insane fire rate it possesses. The SMG has the bonus of always dealing shock damage with every 10 bullets it fires. This shock bullet deals an additional 380% bonus damage. The projectiles from this weapon fire in a corkscrew pattern. This weapon can also come in an X2 variant that consumes 2 ammo per shot. It, of course, come from any source in Arms Race, but has a higherchance to dropfrom the same chest as the Hotfoot Teddy.
4Critical Thug
Everyone will mark this as the day that Torgue met Jakobs. With the Critical Thug, players get the best of both guns. It hasa whopping 200% bonus critical damage, but that’s not all. This weapon also ricochets bullets to nearby enemies whenever the player scores a critical hit. This weapon is probably best used on Moze who can score critical hits with explosions. The splash damage of this weapon is also enough to melt enemy health bars in the blink of an eye. Do note that even though this weapon is a Torgue weapon it doesn’t have the sticky grenade mode.
3Boogeyman
The Boogeyman is a new sniper rifle that has a chance to spawn a skull every time the player kills an enemy. The current rate that players have guessed is a 10% chance of the skull spawning. The good news about the skull though is that it deals grenade damage and can chain to nearby enemies.

Players can get the most out of this gun by increasing grenade damage and splash damage. The weapon also has a high chance not to consume ammo which is great considering it consumes two ammo per shot.
2Binary Operator
The Binary Operator is the most interesting sniper rifle that has been put in the game so far. It can be extremely powerful, or it can’t. What that means is that the weapon will either one-shot an enemy or deal no damage to them. When a player retrieves the weapon they will notice that the weapon damage is listed as two. This is because of the hidden damage marker. When buffing the gun with critical damage or gun damage, if the damage is high enough to deal more damage than the enemy’s health the weapon will kill it. If the player can’t buff the gun enough to get the damage required to kill the enemy, the gun will deal no damage.
1Tizzy
The Tizzy has people calling it the best of all the COV pistols in the game. It has an average fire rate that gets to insane levels the longer the player holds down the trigger. This can absolutely decimate enemies if a player gets close enough. It is a COV pistol so the range is limited. This weapon can drop in any of the elements. It also has a hidden ability that amps a shot every now and then. Playerswill notice the amped shotcomes out as yellow which separates it from all the rest.
