The following article contains spoilers forThe Book of Boba Fett.

The Book of Boba Fettmay be struggling to honor its namesake character, but the show is still packing plenty ofStar Warshype, including a very special appearance from one Luke Skywalker that has the actor playing him swooning over the opportunity to step into Mark Hamill’s iconic role.

That is because ever since Luke Skywalker came back for his special cameo inThe Mandalorianseason 2 finale, Hamill hasn’t been playing the Jedi legend, who was instead first portrayed by Max Lloyd-Jones in that instance and now by Graham Hamilton. While Lloyd-Jones did play Lieutenant Reed inThe Book of Boba Fett, Hamilton’s face remains unseen, though that won’t stop him from sharing his excitement over becoming a part of the franchise.

Hamilton expressed his feelings in a long Instagram post from his personal account, where he described his experience co-creating this rejuvenated version of Hamill alongside the actor. “Co-creating #LukeSkywalker for @thebookofbobafett with master @hamillhimself was one of the most magical and fulfilling creative experiences of my life,” he wrote. The moment made Hamilton reminisce his days as a 5-year-old kid watchingStar Wars, and he also thanked episodedirector Dave Filoniand show creator Jon Favreau for the opportunity of a lifetime.

Reading out Hamilton’s list of favorite moments is proof enough of the sheer fun the actors had onThe Book of Boba Fettset, naming Rosario Dawson, Hamill, and the entire show’s crew as part of that, but without leaving out his pal Grogu. The “From the Desert Comes a Stranger" episode is yet another instance where Boba Fett was mostly absent from his own series. However, with Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, andCad Bane all making cameo appearances, it’s easy to let that slip by.

Despite Hamill continuing to work or collaborate onStar Warsprojects, many fans will be surprised to find out that the voice used inThe Book of Boba Fettis actually not any new dialogue recorded by the actor, but rather the product of some very cutting-edge voice processing tech. Hamill may be one of the most prolific and iconic voice actors out there, yet hisBook of Boba Fettappearance, just like hisMandaloriancameo, only features his likeness.

The quality of Disney’s Deepfakes has gone up considerably sinceThe Mandalorianseason two finale, possibly due to the special effects studio hiring one of the artists that outclassed Lucasfilm’s experts. Nevertheless, that trick could get old real fast, so it might be time to hire someone like Hamilton or another new actor towield Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber on a permanent basis.
