The film has finally been released after being delayed multiple times. The story exploresNatasha Romanoff’s historyas she reunites with people from her past life to face a dark past. Eagle-eyed viewers will spot a ton of easter eggs and references while giving the long-awaited movie a watch.
10The Location Titles
Whenever the scene takes the movie to a different location, a massive location title is displayed on the screen. Those who have seen previous Marvel movies know that this trope is recurring in the MCU, but it makes even more sense in this movie.
The most memorable uses of massive location titles in the MCU are inCaptain America: Civil WarandAvengers: Infinity War.Interestingly,Black Widowis chronologically set right in between those two movies.

9Moonraker
Early in the movie, Natasha takes a break for just a few moments, watching the movieMoonrakerwhile mouthing the lines. The Black Widow is obviously a huge fan of thisJames Bond entry. As it turns out, the film being featured in the movie is foreshadowing Natasha’s journey moving forward.
The hideout of the villain ofMoonrakeris very similar to the hidden placement of the Red Room. It’s also interesting to note that the aforementioned movie starts out with a skydiving scene, while the climax ofBlack Widowshows the characters falling from the sky.

8Foreshadowing Natasha’s Death
Regardless of how a viewer receivesBlack Widow,it is still fairly heart-wrenching going into this movie fully knowing the character’s eventual fate inAvengers: Endgame. As it happens, her final movie in the MCU (as far as we know, anyway) wastes no time in foreshadowing the character’s death.

As Natasha and Yelena are being chased by other Widows, one agent falls to her death despite Natasha’s efforts to save her. Her fall mirrors Natasha’s sacrifice inEndgame.Even the positioning of the Widow’s body also mimics the form of Natasha’s lifeless body on the grounds of Vormir.
7The White Suit
In this movie, Natasha and Yelena sport a white suit, marking the first time the Black Widow character is wearing a costume that’s not dark-themed on the big screen. This suit was inspired by the suit Black Widow wears in theBlack Widow: Deadly Originlimited series.
Interestingly, the comic series takes Natashato the icy landscapes of Moscow. In the movie, Natasha wears the white suit for the first time while rescuing Alexei from a prison situated around mountain ranges covered in snow.

6Ursa Major
Alexei Shostakov loves retelling his glory days, whether his stories are actually real or not. One character who was brave enough to point the potential lies of the Red Guardian is a towering prisoner who goes by the name Ursa.
This character could be a reference to Mikhail Ursus, who also goes by Ursa Major. Ursa is a Russian mutant who has the ability to transform into a bear. Alexei even calls Ursa “big bear” in the movie.

5Alexei’s Tattoos
Alexei’s body is covered in tattoos. Some of these tattoos signify his personality and ties to the Soviet Union, and some are personal. Some of these tattoos speak much for Alexei’s character, things he never got to say out loud.
Alexei has Natasha and Yelena’s names tattooed on his right arms, on a ribbon that covers two roses. He also has a tattoo of Melina when she was younger. A massive Red Guardian tattoo sits on his back. He also has Karl Marx’s name spelled out on his fingers, and a tattoo of Vladimir Lenin on his stomach, among so many others.

4Taskmaster’s Skills
The Taskmaster is said to be capable of fighting just like “all of Natasha’s friends”, referring to the members of the Avengers. This new Marvel villaindoes indeed employ a handful of fighting styles in the movie that mimic the way some Avengers fight.

Her skill with the shield is inspired by Captain America. She wields a bow as Hawkeye does. The way she flips her knife around in combat is very reminiscent of the Winter’s Soldier’s skills. She is also able to counter every move Natasha performs. She is able to swing like Spider-Man, and use Vibranium claws like Black Panther. Interestingly, the head-up display on her helmet which she uses to analyze an enemy’s fighting style is very similar to how Iron Man calculated Steve Roger’s fighting pattern inCivil War.
3Crimson Dynamo
Alexei’s attempts to cheer up Yelena halfway through the movie may have started out rocky, but he did successfully manage to make her smile in the end. During this encounter, Yelena mistakenly, or mockingly calls Alexei “Crimson Dynamo” instead of his actual moniker.
Crimson Dynamo is actually another Russian character whose real name is Anton Vanko. Anton Vanko is also the name of Ivan Vanko’s father inIron Man 2.

2Clint’s Voice
While Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, doesn’t actually appear in this movie, his picture is shown in the movie’s end credit scene. On top of that, the voice that speaks to Natasha during the flashback involving Dreykov’s daughter is also Clint’s.
While he makes no appearance in the film, his presence and association with the Black Widow character are apparent. Jeremy’s voice role in the movie is uncredited, but fans of the character will no doubt recognize the archer’s voice.

1Natasha’s Grave
The end credit scene ofBlack Widowsends Yelena to Natasha’s grave as she mourns the death of her sister. It’s interesting to note that Natasha’s resting place is very similar to how Dreykov described her mother’s resting place to her — underneath a tree with pink blossom leaves.
Natasha’s tombstone is marked “Daughter”, “Sister”, and “Avenger”, everything Natasha is to everyone around her.
