The fate of humanity lies in the hands of the cursed children; these are female kids born by mothers who were infected by Gastrea during pregnancy. The virus gives them superhuman abilities and distinct red eyes. The protagonist, Satomi Rentoro, who is devoted to killing Gastrea bugs after they killed his parents, is paired up with Enju Aihara, a cursed child, to fight against Gastrea.
