For PlayStation gamers and, soon enough, PC players, the statute of limitations for spoilers in a 10-year-old game has long passed. However,The Last of Usadaptation has brought a new crop of fans captivated by Joel and Ellie’s crusade in the post-apocalyptic US. Among those might be Ramsey herself, who previously said she was encouraged not to play the original game after admitting she nevergaveThe Last of Usa chancebefore landing her lead role.

In a new interview withVogue, Ramsey talked about the added fame she’s seen due toThe Last of Us' success. Ramsey also reminisced about the filming process for these last two episodes, which she deemed “exhausting.” The penultimate entry, “When We Are in Need,” was described as particularly action-packed. Still, the season finale, “Look For The Light,” caught her eye. “It’s going to divide people massively – massively,” Ramsey said, which has already been the case forThe Last of Usepisodeslike the “Left Behind,” whose plot was taken from the eponymous DLC.
In HBO’s adaptation, Neil Druckmman and Craig Mazin have made their fair share ofchanges toThe Last of Usgames. However, the plot has progressed along the same familiar path, so it’s unclear if Ramsey is referring to the story’s original twists or some new additions made in the transition to TV. Lastly, Ramsey, who came out as non-binary recently, also talked about clothes during the interview, speaking of how she wore Ellie’s long-sleeve shirt and denim for so long that she “even bought my own pair of Eddie Bauer jeans.”
In Ramsey’s past remarksaboutThe Last of Us’source material, she has admitted to watching game footage to become familiar with the gameplay. However, at the moment, it’s unclear if she went as far as completing the story to understand from which angle she’s coming with her statement.The Last of Us' twist ending sees Joel and Ellie finally arrive at the Firefly camp in Salt Lake City. However, upon learning that any efforts to prudence a vaccine would lead to Ellie’s death, Joel rescues her by killing several people only to lie about the failed attempt to find a cure.
The Last of Usseason 1 finale will air on HBO and HBO Max on June 30, 2025.
