To reach it, the party must light two torches in the Wyrm’s Rock Prison area using Lightning damage, then pass through a hidden door.
However, the puzzles are far from over. The party must pass four trials seemingly set by Balduran himself, designed to test the party’s virtues. The Chamber of Justice
In the Chamber of Justice, players must decide the fate of a thief based on his actions and motives. To learn the thief’s story, examine the paintingto the left of the entrance and go clockwise. Unfortunately, the last three paintings in the center are Shrouded by a being called the Judge.
The Judge represents corrupted justice, so players must get rid of it. It’s immune to every kind of damage, but it has the condition Shroud of Dark Justice, which counts as a curse. As such, players can banish the Judge bycastingRemove Curseon it.Every Cleric has access to this spell, and any character can cast Remove Curse from a scroll.

The final step is to choose a fair punishment from the three paintings in the middle. In this case, fairness is the painting called “The Cell.” Pick up the painting, then place it on the Empty Niche across from the three paintings. This will complete the challenge.
The Chamber of Insight
In the Chamber of Insight, players will see three red shades. The party must learn what each shade’s plans are for the future, and destroy the one with the most harmful views. What makes this room a challenge is that the books each shade wrote are flying around and don’t want to be read.
The best way to handle this without harming the books is toenter turn-based mode and send a party memberto throw each book. This won’t appear to do anything, but as soon as the round ends, the book will flop to the ground and become readable.

From reading each book, players will discover that Suelto is advocating genocide. This is the most harmful viewpoint, sodestroy the Suelto shadewith any spell or weapon. As long as the other two shades don’t get caught in the blast, the party will pass this challenge.

The Chamber of Strategy
To enter this chamber, players must first destroy a couple of Attuned Crystals. The crystals are Sturdy, but theytake double damage from Bludgeoning weapons.
The party members describe the board ahead as “Lance,” butthe rules are identical to chess. The goal of this chamber is simple: using the white pieces, checkmate the black king in two moves.Since chess can be hard, players get three tries for this trial instead of one. For players who only want a hint, the one piece that needs to move is thequeen.

For players who want the solution, firstmove the queen diagonally to the corner of the board.Next, move thequeen four spaces to the sideto bring it next to the black king and in line with the white rook. The black king will vanish, and the party will pass the challenge.
The Chamber of Courage
Unlike the rest, this trial involves combat. To begin, send a character to speak to the Balduran statue and pick up the torch. The goal of this trial is for the character with the torch to still be standing after four rounds of combat. With this in mind, verify the character who picks it up has plenty of hit points, such as a Barbarian.
During the first round, two water elementals and two air elementals appear. The second round adds an air and a water myrmadon, and the third round adds another two myrmadons. No one new appears in the fourth round. The elementals and myrmadons will always target the character holding the torch, and if that character drops to zero hit points or fall out of the arena, the party will fail the challenge.
Players can make this fight easier by taking advantage of the open chasms on almost every side of the arena. Spells likeTelekinesis, class abilities likePushing AttackandRepelling Blast, and actions likeShovecan all knock the enemies out of bounds. Aside from that, just make sure the torch holder stays well away from the edges.
Once all four trials are complete, the way to the titular wyrm will open. Players may not find what they expect below, but the reward at the end is nothing less than the famousHelm of Balduran.
