Glitches can be found in almost any game andAnimal Crossing New Horizonsis no exception. In each Animal Crossing game, there have been infinite bell glitches that would earn players millions and the infamous time travel capability that, while not a glitch, could still break the game. WithAnimal Crossing New Horizonsstill being a fairly new game, there have been multiple glitches that players have experienced.

Nintendo has been quick to action for most of them early on,squashing some bugswithin the first week or two of release, but the fact still remains that there are glitches lying under the surface of each player’s island that could potentially break your game. Or at the very least cause some major confusion.
10I’ve Moved Out
Lately, players have been roaming the beaches and fields of their islands, talking to each villager they pass. This is all normal until they go to a villager’s house and see the sign, “I’ve moved out.” The villager is nowhere to be seen, but oddly enough appears on the map and can even be discussed when they talk toIsabelle or Tom Nook. This glitch was supposedly patched with version 1.2.0, but there are still reports of players experiencing this awful glitch.
9Stuck Villagers
This next glitch causes a random villager in your town to become stuck in place for an entire day. The player is able to talk to them like normal and can even push them around. The funny part is that when being pushed, the stuck villager won’t get mad. No patch has been released to take care of this glitch and even though it isn’t game-breaking, it is still unfortunate to see any villager unable to interact with others or even go home to sleep.
8K.K. Trance
This bug is similar to the stuck villager but involves everyone’s favorite musician, K.K. Slider. When K.K. makes his way to a player’s island on Saturday, he brings with him a setlist that attracts villagers to the plaza, but sometimes this attraction goes a little too far and villagers can get stuck in the plaza for hours on end.

The only way to break them from K.K’s spell is to push them outside of the plaza where they become free to roam around once more. Who knew music could be so powerful?
7Too Many Notifications
With the addition of the NookPhone inAnimal Crossing New Horizons, comes a few new glitches. Any phone is expected to experience problems though when you first buy it from your friendly neighborhood loan officer. One of the main glitches caused by the phone makes notifications from the friends app appear seemingly at random despite whether the player is online or not. This glitch is not game-breaking, but it sure can be annoying and make it seem like friends are constantly appearing online.
6Amiibo Villagers Moving In
Through the use of the Animal CrossingAmiibo cards, a player can bring in their favorite villager to the campsite and eventually get that villager to move to the island. This process takes a little bit of time and can sometimes drag even after theAmiibovillager is moving in. This has caused some players to time travel to make the process go a little quicker. Time-traveling during this process can make the villager come quicker, but it also can cause the exterior of the new home to stay the same as the old home from the last villager.
5Where’s My Shirt?
Having tons of clothing options in the game is great for players who like to change up their look a lot. The use of magic wands also allows players to quickly change up their style on the fly whenever they feel like it from a set list of outfits they have designed. This next glitch comes from a player changing their appearance. Sometimes their shirt can completely disappear and be replaced with a black band across their chest. This may be a way to get that tube top if that’s what you’re going for.
4Fish And Bug Repellant
Going to another player’s island can be a fun experience. you may collect more materials, look in their shops, and chat with their villagers. You can also have fun fishing and catching bugs with friends this way, just don’t stay too long.

There have been players affected by a glitch that causes the fish and bugs to stop spawning if someone comes to their island for too long. Fish can’t even spawn from using bait when this happens.
3Walking On Water
This is a popular glitch for players who want to break the boundary of the game and run out into the massive ocean surrounding their island. If a player places a chair item next to the ocean and a seashell spawns in front of it, then players who sit on the item will be pushed out into the water. This allows them to explore the ocean like never before. Unfortunately, there appears to be no way back onto land currently without waiting for the game to reset on the next day.
2Mouth Animations
Occasionally, villagers like to comment on players leaving or entering someone’s island. This is a cute addition to the game that can lead to a rather awkward glitch. If a player tries to talk to them during this animation, it can force thevillagerto turn around and resume normal conversations. Though when they turn around they will have a lack of mouth animations. A player can get fix this by entering and exiting a building.
1Disappearing/Reappearing Items
WhenAnimal Crossing New Horizonsreleased, players quickly discovered a way to duplicate items and make tons of money. It appears this glitch may be coming back to haunt those who did it. In some instances, players are placing items down on their islands only to have them disappear and then reappear later on. This may seem harmless, but players quickly find out that the items are unable to be moved. This can also happen when placing an item. When some items are placed and moved around on the island, an older item used during the duplication glitch can reappear and cause the item placed to become unmoveable.
